NEW DELHI: Ajit Kumar Behura has assumed the charge as Director (Finance) in Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a leading coal-producing company under the Ministry of Coal.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Coal for appointment of Shri Ajit Kumar Behura, Deputy General Manager, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) as Director (Finance), MCL in the scale of pay of Rs. 1,60,000-2,90,0001 with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.06.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” an order by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet read.

Behura was working as Deputy General Manager, MCL and has also served as Chief Finance Officer of MNH Shakti Limited, a subsidiary of MCL.
