NEW DELHI: Congress Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiah was sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka along with the Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
The Oath of office was administered by Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Siddaramaiah on taking oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka. He also congratulated D.K Sivakumar for taking oath as Deputy Chief Minister. In a tweet, PM Modi said, “Congratulations to Shri @siddaramaiah Ji on taking oath as Karnataka CM and Shri @DKShivakumar Ji on taking oath as Deputy CM. My best wishes for a fruitful tenure.”
Congress MLAs Dr G Parameshwara, KH Muniyappa, KJ George, MB Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Ramalinga Reddy and BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan took oath as the ministers in the state cabinet today. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were present in the ceremony.
