NEW DELHI: The commitment of the government to develop/upgrade urban infrastructure is to provide world-class facilities," highlighted MoS, Defence Sanjay Seth while addressing the gathering at the inauguration of the newly constructed Multi-Level Car Parking Facility at Defence Offices Complex, Africa Avenue, New Delhi.

Describing the project as an important step to ease our parking problem in this office, the Minister emphasized that deployment of advanced technology is the solution to infrastructural issues in metro cities, where land is a scarce resource. He also stressed that such initiatives improve workplace efficiency and transition from traditional to more advanced and modern technologies.

Commending the efforts of CPWD for the project completion in a time-bound manner, Sanjay Seth also appreciated the quality, convenience and aesthetics of other newly constructed buildings like MP Flats, Kartavya Bhawans and Executive Enclave, which were constructed by CPWD.

In this 14-storey multi-level parking, fully automatic robotic (dolly) type technology has been used with the objective to create maximum parking space in the available land parcel. This facility is 60% more efficient in space utilisation in comparison to conventional parking, with a cost of Rs. 45 Crore. The facility is also equipped with CCTV surveillance & a fire safety system. This used technology ensures minimum human intervention and zero vehicle emissions after entry into the lift lobby.
