The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening senior-level administrative capacity across key departments of the Union government.
NEW DELHI: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving more than 40 officers drawn from various services, batches and cadres. The changes include the appointment of a new Special Secretary, several postings at the Additional Secretary level, and multiple in-situ upgradations across key ministries and departments.
Suchindra Misra (IDAS:1992) has been appointed Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce. For this purpose, a vacant Additional Secretary post has been temporarily upgraded to Secretary-level rank and pay.
Lav Aggarwal (IAS:1996:AP) has been moved from the Ministry of Women & Child Development to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry as Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
Srikant Nagulapalli (IAS:1998:AP) has been appointed Director General of Hydrocarbons in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, from his earlier post as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.
Rabindra Kumar Agarwal (IAS:1997:KL) has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India.
Ashutosh Agnihotri (IAS:1999:AM) has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
Aneeta C. Meshram (IAS:1996:UP) has been shifted from the Department of Fertilizers to the President’s Secretariat as Additional Secretary, while Rakesh Gupta (IAS:1997:HY) moves to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Solomon Arokiaraj (IAS:2000:AP) has been transferred from the Department of Economic Affairs to the Cabinet Secretariat as Additional Secretary.
Shyamal Misra (IAS:1996:HY) has been appointed Administrator, Digital Bharat Nidhi, in the Department of Telecommunications.
Sonal Mishra (IAS:1997:GJ) has taken over as Chief Labour Commissioner (Central).
The ACC also granted in-situ upgradations to several officers, including Asit Gopal (IFoS:1990:MP) as Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Textiles; Ramesh Krishnamurthi (IRS IT:1992) as Central Provident Fund Commissioner, EPFO.
Additionally, 13 officers were upgraded to the Additional Secretary level, including Mukesh Mangal (ITS:1992), Meenaxi Rawat (IES:1993), Archana Sharma Awasthi (IRS IT:1994), and Nitesh Kumar Mishra (ICAS:1995).
The reshuffle also includes appointments and upgradations of several Joint Secretaries to the Additional Secretary rank across ministries such as Labour & Employment, Skill Development, Culture, Atomic Energy, Power, Defence, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Youth Affairs, Health Research, Panchayati Raj, and Scientific Research.
Dilip Kumar (IAS:1995:PB) has been appointed Director General (Training), Ministry of Skill Development.
Caralyn Khongwar Deshmukh (IAS:1996:MP) joins the Ministry of Women & Child Development as Additional Secretary.
Anandrao Vishnu Patil (IAS:1998:TN) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education.
Dinesh Mahur (ITS:1992) moves to the Department of Defence Production as Additional Secretary.
Mayank Tiwari (IRSME:1993) has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy.
