Calls for unhindered humanitarian aid in Gaza.
NEW DELHI: India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni reiterated India’s firm support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict and emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Addressing the High-Level International Conference on The Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in New York, Parvathaneni underscored the importance of direct dialogue between the parties.
“Our efforts must now focus on achieving a two-state solution through purposeful diplomacy and bringing the concerned parties to the negotiating table,” he said.
Expressing concern over the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Ambassador drew attention to the rising civilian casualties, destruction of medical infrastructure, and the disruption of education for children, who have been out of school for over 20 months.
“The human suffering in Gaza continues unabated. Humanitarian aid must flow without obstacles,” he urged. “Palestinians in Gaza need unhindered access to food, fuel, and other essential supplies.”
India also called for an immediate ceasefire and stressed that humanitarian aid must be kept above political considerations.
“Humanitarian assistance is critical to sustaining life and must remain insulated from politics or conflict,” Parvathaneni said, commending friendly states for facilitating aid efforts on the ground.
Reaffirming India’s commitment to peace, he concluded: “Let us not settle for solutions on paper, but work toward practical outcomes. India stands ready to contribute meaningfully to this noble cause.”
