NEW DELHI: An Indian all-party Parliamentary delegation, headed by NCP MP Supriya Sule, recently concluded a diplomatic visit to Ethiopia aimed at reinforcing India’s unwavering commitment to combating cross-border terrorism.

Throughout the visit, the delegation held discussions with Ethiopian officials, media, academic institutions, civil society leaders, think tanks, and members of the Indian diaspora. They focused on the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and India's subsequent military response, Operation Sindoor.

The Indian representatives characterized Operation Sindoor as a measured, precise, and proportionate action—reflecting India’s determination to tackle terrorism decisively while avoiding regional escalation.

Emphasizing India’s prolonged battle with cross-border terrorism, the MPs underlined the necessity of holding not only the attackers accountable but also those who support, shelter, or assist them in any form. They highlighted India’s efforts to systematically dismantle long-standing terrorist networks operating beyond its borders.

Ethiopian authorities reiterated their own zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and extended strong solidarity with India following the Pahalgam attack. The delegation expressed gratitude for Ethiopia’s unequivocal support.

During engagements with local media and civil society, the delegation elaborated on India’s counter-terrorism stance and their diplomatic efforts in Ethiopia. They also addressed broader regional and international issues.

In their address to the Indian community in Ethiopia, the delegation commended their commitment to values such as tolerance, unity, and pluralism, and praised their resilience against attempts to disrupt India's social harmony.

Several Ethiopian leaders who studied in India and now hold influential positions also voiced their support for India’s counter-terrorism actions.
