Jaishankar meets State Heads of several countries in New Delhi

States Heads of Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mauritius and Bhutan visited New Delhi for PM Modi's oath-taking ceremony.

NEW DELHI: Union Minister S. Jaishankar met heads of states of  Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mauritius and Bhutan who had attended the oath-taking ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After meeting Maldivian President President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Jaishankar wrote on X: "Delighted to call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu of Maldives today in New Delhi. Look forward to India and Maldives working together closely."

Jaishankar met Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and recognized the steady progress in India-Sri Lanka relations. 

He also discussed the growing various facets of India-Nepal cooperation with Nepalese PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

He also met PM Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius and reflected on the special bond between the two countries.

He expressed his gratitude after meeting Bhutanese PM Tshering Tobgay. They spoke about unique and multifaceted friendship between the two neighbours, he wrote on X.

Jaishankar also met Vice President of Seychelles, Ahmed Afif and committed to further strengthening the long-standing partnership.
