Justice Sanjiv Khanna takes oath as Chief Justice of India

He made and subscribed to the oath of office before the President.

NEW DELHI: Justice Sanjiv Khanna was sworn in as the 51st Chief Justice of India after Justice DY Chandrachud's term as CJI ended.

He took oath in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He made and subscribed to the oath of office before the President.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to convey his best wishes to Justice Sanjiv Khanna on taking oath as Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India. 

The Prime Minister posted on X: “Attended the oath taking ceremony of Justice Sanjiv Khanna, who has been sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India. My best wishes for his tenure.”
