NEW DELHI: A Search-cum-Selection Committee under the Ministry of Steel has recommended the name of MNVS Prabhakar, Executive Director at NMDC Steel Limited, for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL).

The decision was taken during a meeting held in New Delhi, where the committee interviewed several senior executives from public sector steel companies before finalising its recommendation.

Among those considered for the top post were S. Subbaraj, Executive Director of Alloy Steels Plant at Steel Authority of India Limited; Bipin Kumar Giri, Executive Director (Mines Development) at Steel Authority of India Limited; and Munna Prasad Singh, Executive Director (Mines), OGOM and CMLO at Steel Authority of India Limited.

Following the interaction and evaluation process, the committee recommended Prabhakar’s name for the leadership position at RINL, which operates the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
