NEW DELHI: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Arvind Kumar, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), for appointment as Director (Consumer Mobility) on the Board of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
According to an official statement, Kumar was selected after the PESB interviewed senior executives from BSNL and other government organisations for the board-level position.
The candidates considered for the post included Nitin Ravindra Mahajan, Principal General Manager, Ahmedabad; Ramashray Prasad, Principal General Manager (Consumer Mobility); Sanjeev Singhal, Principal General Manager (Transmission); Daya Nand Katyayan, Senior General Manager and Business Area Head, Faridabad; Kamlesh Kukreti, Senior General Manager; Digamber Kumar, Senior General Manager and Business Area Head, Tumkur—all from BSNL—and Arvind Kumar, Director General and CEO of STPI.
The Director (Consumer Mobility) is a key board-level position responsible for overseeing BSNL's consumer mobility business, including mobile services, customer acquisition, service quality, and overall business strategy.
Arvind Kumar currently heads the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). During his tenure, he has played a significant role in strengthening India's IT and startup ecosystem through various policy and infrastructure initiatives.
His appointment will take effect after receiving the necessary approvals from the competent authority.
