NEW DELHI: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Pankaj Pandey for appointment as Director (Operations) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).

Pandey is currently serving as Executive Director (TBCB) at POWERGRID. His selection follows interviews conducted by PESB for the senior board-level position. A total of 12 candidates were considered for the post.

He is set to succeed Naveen Srivastava, the incumbent Director (Operations), who is scheduled to superannuate on November 30, 2026. Pandey's appointment, however, remains subject to the requisite clearances and approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

As Director (Operations), Pandey will be responsible for overseeing POWERGRID's operational functions, driving business efficiency and supporting the company's long-term growth objectives.

POWERGRID, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, plays a key role in India's electricity transmission infrastructure.
