NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Piyush Singla has been officially appointed as the Director of the National Health Authority–Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, operating under the Department of Health & Family Welfare in Delhi.

A 2012-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, Singla’s selection follows a recommendation for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Central Staffing Scheme. According to the official order, his tenure begins upon assuming charge and will run co-terminus with the mission, subject to extensions permitted under the scheme or until further instructions.

An official order stated that Singla should be relieved of his current responsibilities immediately to enable him to take up the new assignment at the National Health Authority under the Department of Health & Family Welfare in Delhi.
