NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026, describing it as an “enchanting” and shining example of creativity, sustainability and community participation that reflects the city’s vibrant spirit and deep connection with nature.

Responding to a post by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on X, the Prime Minister said, “The Ahmedabad Flower Show brings together creativity, sustainability and community participation, while beautifully showcasing the city’s vibrant spirit and love for nature. It is also commendable how this flower show has grown in scale and imagination over the years.”

Earlier, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the show’s global recognition, announcing that the 14th edition of the event, organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, has created two Guinness World Records. These include the world’s largest flower mandala and the world’s largest flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

With these achievements, the Ahmedabad Flower Show has registered a hat-trick of world records for the third consecutive year. In 2024, the event created the world’s longest flower structure, followed by the world’s largest flower bouquet in 2025. The two new records in 2026 further establish the show as a benchmark in creativity and organisational excellence.

The Chief Minister said the flower show, organised under the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi, has given the World Heritage City of Ahmedabad a distinct identity on the global stage. He described the event as more than a floral exhibition, calling it a grand celebration of India’s cultural heritage, national unity and the creative energy of modern India.

Congratulating the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the citizens of Ahmedabad, Patel said the international acclaim received by the flower show is a matter of pride not only for the city but also for Gujarat as a whole.
