NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam. "We discussed the full range of the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. We talked about futuristic sectors like semiconductors, digitalisation, skilling, connectivity and more", PM Modi stated.
The Prime Minister posted on X: "Earlier this evening, met the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam. We discussed the full range of the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. We talked about futuristic sectors like semiconductors, digitalisation, skilling, connectivity and more. We also spoke on ways to improve cooperation in industry, infrastructure and culture."
President Tharman also held discussions with President Droupadi Murmu, who also hosted a banquet in his honour. Both Presidents unveiled a joint logo commemorating 60th anniversary of establishment of India-Singapore bilateral ties. Singapore is a key pillar of India’s ‘Act East’ Policy and our vision of the Indo-Pacific. This visit follows an eventful year in India-Singapore bilateral relations, the hallmark of which was Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Singapore in September 2024, which also witnessed elevation of India-Singapore ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
