NEW DELHI: Ravi Kota is set to become the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), marking a significant leadership transition at India’s premier aerospace and defence public sector undertaking.

Ravi is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate and is an alumunus of IIM, Ahmedabad & IAS, Toulouse-France and has rich experience of over 30 years across various sectors.

A senior bureaucrat with extensive experience in governance and public administration, Kota is expected to bring strategic depth and policy insight to HAL at a crucial time, as the company expands its role in indigenous defence manufacturing and aerospace innovation.

HAL plays a central role in India’s defence ecosystem, with responsibilities spanning aircraft, helicopters, engines and avionics for the armed forces, as well as growing export ambitions. Kota’s appointment is seen as aligned with the government’s broader push for Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence production.
