NEW DELHI: The government appointed Sanjay Malhotra as new Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor. He is a graduate in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Malhotra earned a Master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University, USA.
In 1990, he cracked the UPSC CSE and became an Indian Administrative Service Officer of the Rajasthan cadre.
During his 33-year career, he has worked in various segments, including power, finance and taxation, information technology, mines, etc. He is appointed to the office for three years starting from December 11.
