NEW DELHI: Sundar Pichai, Chief Executive Officer of Google, met with PM Narendra Modi ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The discussions, held at Hyderabad House, focused on strengthening collaboration in artificial intelligence, talent development and the expanding role of technology in India’s digital ecosystem.

Prime Minister Modi described the meeting as a “delight,” highlighting India’s progress in AI and the nation’s deep pool of skilled students and professionals — a talent base he said can be further supported through cooperation with global tech leaders like Google. Modi and Pichai discussed ways the company could contribute to innovation, research, and education initiatives across India.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the summit, which brings together policymakers, industry leaders and academic experts to examine the transformative impact of AI on economies and societies — especially within the Global South. Pichai is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech later this week at the event.
