NEW DELHI: The government has extended Tarun Kapoor's term as Advisor to the Prime Minister in the PMO for an additional year.

Kapoor, a retired 1987-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been a key figure in the PMO, contributing to significant policy and governance initiatives. This extension highlights the government's continued trust in his extensive administrative background and policy knowledge.

Prior to his role in the PMO, Kapoor held several important positions, including Secretary for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He is well-regarded for his contributions to the energy sector, infrastructure development, and public administration.

This decision ensures ongoing policy advisory support within the PMO, which is expected to bolster current efforts in governance reforms and economic development.
