NEW DELHI: The Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) constituted under the Department of Atomic Energy has recommended Vivek Jaiswal, Principal General Manager (Enterprise Business) at BSNL, for appointment as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad.

The committee conducted the selection meeting via video conferencing on May 9, 2026, as part of the government’s process for appointing senior leadership in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

Three senior officials who appeared before the committee for the CMD position at ECIL included Magesh Ethirajan, Director General, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC); Vivek Jaiswal, Principal General Manager (Enterprise Business), BSNL and Rakesh Tumane, Director (Finance), MOIL Limited.

Following the evaluation process, the committee recommended Vivek Jaiswal for the top post at ECIL. The recommendation forms part of the established procedure for selecting executives for key positions in government-owned enterprises. The appointment will take effect after completion of the necessary approvals and formalities as per government norms.
